This Earth Day Vow To Make Your Earth A Better Place By Saving Water
The whole world including India is right now sitting at home. So many people are fighting the deadly disease COVID-19, out of which some are dying too. When everything including the future of mankind is looking dark, one positive thing has happened too. While India is staying at home in lockdown, the numbers of cars, buses, trains have decreased drastically. All factories have been shut down and any kind of activities that increases pollution have been stopped. In this whole month, not only our country but the whole world has become a lot more purified. This is probably the first World Earth Day in a long time when Earth itself is looking green and pure.
But this could be a very good lesson for us where we vow to take care of our Earth and the best way to start that is to save water. Whether you use a plastic water storage tank for rainwater harvesting or you use a bucket to clean your car, find ways to save water. The very first thing you can do is to not have showers 5 times a day. We understand that summer is here and some days, you feel like sitting in a tub the whole day, but you shouldn’t do that. On top of that, there has been a lot of water wastage recently in order to make our surroundings clean from the virus. When we shower, we tend us 17 gallons of water. Imagine the amount of water we are wasting when we shower more than once. So, on this day, pledge to take a shower once or twice on a very humid day and save water in your plastic water storage tank.
Reusing water is also a very good practice and a great way to conserve water. The population of our keeps increasing and along with that is increasing the demand for water. Recycled water is not of the same quality when returned to earth. SO, instead of throwing used water down the drain, why not use it for something else. If you are refilling a bottle after throwing away the old water, instead of throwing it give it to the plants. The bucket of water you used to clean your car, throw it on the grass field. The water you used to cook pasta or vegetables, use it for something else in cooking. Think twice before you throw or waste any water. If not for yourself then do it for your kids.
Using plastic water storage tank is also a great way to use water for home or even for rainwater harvesting. So, this Earth Day, learn to save water and promise yourself that once this pandemic is over we will do justice to our Earth.
